Private Family Support
neuro-affirming coaching, mentoring and mediation for parents, families and young people
We operate a small caseload of private clients, supporting neurodivergent individuals, couples, and families who are navigating educational, family and professional pressures.
Maggie Rait has twenty-five years of educational and pastoral leadership in international, independent day and boarding schools in the UK and Asia, and supports parents with her husband, Mark, whose background is in senior management with Health and Social care, accredited neurodiversity coaching and mediation.
With extensive lived experience of Autism and ADHD, both as individuals and parents of neurodivergent children, our whole-family, systemic approach helps parents to understand and implement evidence-based, neuro-affirming principles and practices within the home.
specialist neurodiversity support
-
coaching & mentoring:
When a neurodivergent child is disengaged or dysregulated, traditional compliance-based parenting frameworks can exacerbate a crisis.
We work systemically with parents and young people to decode distressed behaviour, unpick sensory overload, and install low-demand environments and compassion at home. We help parents to understand their child’s unique operating system, and develop approaches aimed at co-regulation, collaboration and reducing guilt and shame in their child.
-
couples coaching:
Generic couples counselling may fail to identify the root causes of relational distress, overlooking the unique sensory, emotional, and communication needs within neurodivergence.
Combining neuro-affirming coaching and mentoring with the principles of family mediation, we help neurodivergent or mixed-neurotype partnerships move past conflict and disconnection, dismantling resentment, and building collaboration rooted in mutual understanding and nervous system safety.
-
mediation & advocacy:
When communication between a school and a family collapses in relation to neurodivergence, parents can feel cornered and schools defensive.
With two decades of educational and pastoral leadership in day and boarding, alongside accredited mediation, we are a trusted bridge between parents and schools. We facilitate constructive, solutions-focused dialogue, audit reasonable adjustments, and resolve high-stakes disputes - safeguarding educational placements with informed collaboration.
